RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. --- Austin Jones won almost every honor there is to win at the high school level, and now the local outfielder/pitcher will bring those tools to Eagles Diamond.
 
Jones pitched and hit his way right through the Ambassador League, earning all-league first team, all-region first team and all-state first team honors during his time at Ontario Christian High School.
 
"Austin is a great athlete, who displays the makings of an above-average arm," said Head Coach Jay Sullenger. "He runs very well and has above-average bat speed. He will compete right away for innings, and as he learns the system here and grows as a man he will have every opportunity to make an impact for Biola baseball."
 
Jones began classes at Biola this fall, and he notes he was drawn to the school because of its ability to help him grow.
 
"I chose Biola because it is a great place to grow as an individual in a spiritual and mental way," said Jones. "It also has an amazing community and high academic accomplishments."
 
In addition to his aspirations on the baseball diamond, Jones hopes to enter a career in business and is majoring in business administration. He has his sights set on a career as an accountant or in sports management.
 
He should fit in well with the academic atmosphere of the school, because throughout high school he shone brightly in the classroom. During his time with the Knights, Jones attained membership in the California Scholastic Federation and National Honors Society and was a Scholar-Athlete.
 
He laces up the cleats for Sullenger's squad beginning with a few fall scrimmages, and he will get into the real action this January.
