CHINO, Calif. --- Micah Beyer joins Biola baseball and Head Coach Jay Sullenger's pitching pool for 2015, and he looks to carry his 1.2 strikeouts per inning from high school to Eagles Diamond.
 
The Chino, California native prepped at Don Lugo High School, helping them to the league championship during his senior season. After Don Lugo, Beyer attended California Baptist but did not play for the Lancers.
 
He remained active in baseball by playing in the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League (SCCBL) for the Inland Valley Pirates, which is where he impressed the Biola staff enough to earn a spot with the Eagles. Beyer maintained his strikeout stuff over the summer racking up 37 strikeouts in his 34 innings pitched.
 
"He is a great student and he is excited to be playing baseball at Biola," said Sullenger. "He has a chance to pitch some good innings in the spring as he learns the system here as a Biola pitcher."
 
Beyer also posted some impressive honors away from baseball. He earned recognition as a two-time varsity athletic scholar, two-time National Honors Society member and he earned a spot on the California Baptist University Provost's List.
 
The impressive academic began classes already with Biola, and he is majoring in business administration with the goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant. When he is not working with numbers in class or racking them up on the diamond he enjoys snowboarding and fishing.
