MCKINNEY, Texas --- McKinney North High School is a breeding ground for future college basketball players. Steele Douglas becomes the second former Bulldog to join this year's recruiting class at Biola.
 
Douglas put in his time to become one of the biggest offensive threats McKinney North had during his final two seasons in orange. He posted 225 points in 21 games played during his senior season to help the Bulldogs to a 25-6 overall record and district championship.
 
His work on the ball earned him the team's offensive MVP award following the 2013-14 season. He added that honor to his all-district accolades from both his junior and senior campaigns.
 
He joins Jola Otubu as the two Bulldogs teammates to enter the Biola men's basketball program in the fall of 2014.
 
Douglas will enhance the depth of Dr. Dave Holmquist's rotation at the guard position and should see some time off the bench as a freshman. He's got a solid shot from mid-range and can also crash the boards for rebounds, bringing in just over four per game as a senior.
 
"I felt Biola would be a good fit for me, considering the high character of the program and the Christian environment," said Douglas. "I felt welcomed by the coaches and players."
 
Douglas plans to be a business major with hopes of one day becoming a business owner. He is a strong academic addition to the Biola family, as he earned academic all-state recognition his senior year and maintained his spot on the honor roll.
