McKinney, Texas --- It will be hard to find many students right out of high school with as much talent and ambition as Jola Otubu. Otubu enters Biola this fall as an electrical engineering major with hopes of one day becoming a CEO/president of a major electrical supplies company.
 
He comes to Biola from McKinney North High School, where he played four seasons for the Bulldogs before graduating this spring.
 
The 5-foot-7-inch point guard ended his high school playing career ranked as the 89^th best high school player in all of Texas. His all-district second team honors as a sophomore, district defensive MVP award as a junior and overall district MVP as a senior undoubtedly helped his ranking.
 
Otubu led the Bulldogs to a district title in the 2013-14 season. The team compiled a 25-6 overall record and 13-0 record in district play, good enough to get ranked as the 44^th-best high school program in Texas.
 
During his final season on the court for the Bulldogs Otubu appeared in 28 games and put up 11.5 points per contest. He also delivered just under five assists and five rebounds per game en route to his district MVP honors.
 
Otubu begins his journey as an Eagle this fall, and he will suit up for Dr. Dave Holmquist beginning at the end of October.
