This honor completes her resume for a season that has been overflowing with awards and honors and sets her up for a chance to become Biola's first-ever three-time Academic All-American if she can repeat the honor next season.
 
Tixier is a junior human biology major and her cumulative grade point average of 3.81 helped her secure this prestigious honor. With the second team nod she became one of just 20 student-athletes in the nation from NAIA schools or junior colleges to earn Academic All-American status in the "At-Large" category.
 
Tixier was one of the two student-athletes from the Golden State Athletic Conference to make the cut. The other was a men's tennis player from Westmont, John Bertram.
 
This category included nominations from fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo, bowling, crew, field hockey, men's volleyball and wrestling.
 
This year's College Division At-Large honorees came from men's tennis, men's golf, wrestling, swimming and diving, men's volleyball, women's golf, women's tennis, women's lacrosse, bowling and women's crew.
 
Tixier was one of five Eagles to earn Academic All-District honors in mid-May, but was the only Eagle to be whittled down to get the national honor.
 
She can add this to her NAIA Female Swimmer of the Year award, three NAIA Championships, three All-American honors and A.O. Duer award nomination and hang up her suit for the summer as she reflects on one of the most successful seasons a Biola student-athlete has ever had.
 
In order to earn a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American honor Tixier needed to maintain a cumulative GPA above 3.3, be of at least sophomore status and serve a prominent role on her team. Once she was named Academic All-District last month, she was included in a pool of student-athletes that was voted on by members of CoSIDA and turned into this list of Academic All-Americans.
