GULF SHORES, Ala. --- Biola concluded its 2014 track and field season with a bang as the women's squad earned a top-25 finish and Alexandra Sciarra earned two more All-American honors to end her Biola career with 10 total.
 
"This group is mentally calloused in competition, so they tend to rise to any challenge they face," said Head Coach Jonathan Zimmerman.
 
The Eagles finished 23^rd overall to improve on their finishes from the last two seasons. Biola's women's contingent finished 37^th in each of the last two years of outdoor competition.
 
Sciarra's two All-American finishes gave her three total for this year's outdoor championships. She finished fourth with the rest of the 4x800m relay team yesterday and then took fifth and seventh in the 400m hurdles and 800m, respectively.
 
Sciarra's Saturday runs were especially impressive, because she had to run the finals for the two events just 40 minutes after each other.
 
Lyndee Dawson and Kevin Horchler also got some runs in on Saturday afternoon, competing in the finals of the men and women's 3,000m steeplechase.
 
Dawson earned All-American honors with a 10:55.21 that placed her fifth in the event. This bested her previous personal-best by 13 seconds. This is her first individual All-American honor and third of her career, just one year into her four years at Biola.
 
Horchler ran a 9:40.36 to place 13^th in the men's steeplechase. He was the lone representative from the men's team to compete at the outdoor national championships.
 
Biola now hops back on a plane to end yet another great season under 2014 Golden State Athletic Conference men's coach of the year, Jonathan Zimmerman.

"What a blessing it has been to represent Biola on the national level," said Zimmerman. "Every one of the athletes and coaches on the staff recognize this is a rare opportunity, and we certainly are thankful to the university and appreciative of all the support from family, friends and professors. It has been a rewarding season in many ways."
