ESCONDIDO, Calif. --- A volleyball program that finishes second in the nation never rebuilds, it simply reloads. Christina Denboer will be a big part of that reloading process at Biola University after committing to join Head Coach Aaron Seltzer's team in 2015.
 
"I am very excited about Christina committing," said Seltzer. "We are always looking for girls who are physical and can put the ball in. We need to reload for the future and we expect Christina to be one of our cornerstone players moving forward."
 
Denboer has spent the last three seasons as a member of the varsity girls volleyball program at Calvin Christian High School in Escondido, Calif. She is an outside hitter that earned all-conference recognition in each of her first three seasons and made the all-state team as a sophomore.
 
She still has one more season at the high school level, and she already has two MVP honors. She will look to lead her team to a CIF Division 5 championship in the coming season, having already brought the Crusaders to a runner-up finish.
 
"I decided to come to Biola because I was on campus and it just felt right. All of the volleyball girls were really nice, and I guess the coach was OK, too," Denboer said with a smile.
 
She will enter the university in fall 2015 and will join players who are currently freshmen and sophomores, including Alyssa Mason, Joclyn Kirton, Crissy Cunningham, Olivia Sorensen and Cassie Mulder.
 
Denboer plans to enter the university as an elementary education major, and will enter as a very strong academic student-athlete. She is currently a member of the national honors society.
