PRESCOTT, Ariz. --- Biola said hello to an old face and goodbye to a familiar one at the Golden State Athletic Conference/Cal Pac Conference regional tournament on Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Eagles welcomed Amy Harris back to the team and followed Jackie Mata through her final collegiate round en route to its fifth place finish at the season-ending tournament.
 
Biola joined five other schools from the GSAC and Cal Pac at Antelope Hills Golf Course for the opening tournament of postseason play that served as Biola's chance to qualify for the NAIA championship.

For Mata, it was her final collegiate tournament after four years of competition at CSU San Marcos and Biola. Harris rejoined the team to help push for a solid team finish after she took some time off from the program.
 
It was Amanda Hobbs who led the way for the Eagles, with the lowest score on the squad. She shot a 244 (+28) to tie for fifth place overall. It was her best finish of the season and was made possible by her opening-round 76, the best single round by a Biola golfer this season.
 
Mata and Jasmine Rodriguez both had strong showings in addition to Hobbs' standout showing. Mata improved upon her score in each round as she familiarized herself with the course. She ended with a 253 (+37) for the tournament.
 
Rodriguez sandwiched a difficult round two between two fantastic rounds to post her final score of 260 (+44). She shot lower than 85 in her first and third rounds, but she was over 90 in a tough late afternoon second round.
 
The Eagles posted these three rounds over the two-day stretch of the tournament in the unpredictable Arizona weather. The entire first day, when Hobbs shot her 76, was subject to high winds and cool temperatures, before the weather evened out on Tuesday.
 
Harris gave it her best shot in her first tournament back, but she shot over 100 in each round and came away with a 313 for the tournament.
 
The Eagles came away with a 1,070 team score for the tournament to land them ahead of only Menlo College (1,089) in fifth place. The host school, Embry-Riddle, won the tournament with a 941.
 
The Eagles of ERAU also finished with two of the top three individual finishers, including the individual tournament champion, Lauren Kruszewski (219).
 
Biola's season comes to a close with the promise of a successful future, thanks to Hobbs and Rodriguez's strong finishes.
