Win-Mills

Biola got its fourth win of the season in convincing fashion, with an 8-1 defeat of Mills College.

Kelsey Post got her fifth chance of the season to get a win in the No. 3 spot, and she was able to make it happen.

OAKLAND, Calif. --- The Eagles made their trip to Oakland well worth it by picking up a convincing 8-1 win over Mills College to improve to 4-12 on the season and notch their highest win total since a nine-win season in 2010.

Biola controlled nearly every aspect of the play on Saturday morning as it cruised to what was nearly the team's first shutout win since beating Hope International 18-0 over two matches in 2011.

The 8-1 mark matches the Eagles' output against Mills from last season.

Each of the Biola players improved their personal records on the season, except for an uncharacteristic, but very close, loss at No. 1 doubles.

Olivia Carreon's straight-set sweep of Alessandra Cuenco pushed her over the top to become just the second student-athlete on Biola's team this season with an individual record better than .500.

Maura Lopez also had a fantastic performance in singles, as she allowed just one point to her opponent all match long.

The later doubles matches were also very positive for Biola as it got 8-1 and 8-2 victories.

The Eagles improved to 20-28 overall in doubles play this season, a solid showing resulting in them being able to be competitive, even in their losses.

The Eagles get back to the Biola Tennis Center this week as they host Hope International on Tuesday afternoon, looking to win two straight for the second time this season.
