Garrett Picha through the first six innings of the game, but it all fell apart in the latter innings as No. 9 Concordia hit its way to an 11-1 win over the Eagles.

CUI put 15 hits on the board as it cruised to its sixth conference win of the season. Biola drops to 7-12 (3-7 GSAC) after the loss in the series-opener.

Picha got the call to start his fifth game of the season against the Eagles of Irvine. He went 6.1 innings, allowing eight hits and four earned runs in a losing effort.

He was able to shut down the Concordia order through the first three innings, but game up four runs over the fourth, fifth and sixth before getting pulled in the beginning of the seventh.

Concordia's offense was blistering throughout the contest; picking up 15 hits on the afternoon. Jonathan Rodriguez, the Eagles' designated hitter, led the way with a 4-for-5 day in which he picked up three RBI and one run.

CUI's starter, Keegan Yuhl, held Biola off balance all afternoon. He went eight innings and surrendered just two hits to the Eagles' offense.

Boone Farrington was the man responsible for one of those hits, hitting a perfect triple down the right field line. He led off the fifth inning with the hit, and came home on a sacrifice hit.

Concordia sealed its win with seven runs over the course of the final two innings. Two of those runs were unearned, as they were aided by four Biola errors.

The two teams get back at it tomorrow morning with the series-ending double-header beginning at 11 a.m.
