IRVINE, Calif. --- Distance, distance, distance. Endurance has long been the strength of the Biola track and field program, and after their performance at this weekend's Concordia Last Chance Qualifier, it is clear that is definitely still is.
 
The Eagles cleaned up in the women's mile run, gaining three new national qualifiers with three top-five finishes. Lyndee Dawson (5:05.51) led the pack, but Kellian Hunt (5:05.83) and Carrie Soholt (5:10.75) also hit NAIA Indoor National Championship "A" qualifying standards.
 
The three of those women have a combined nine indoor qualifications between them so far this season, including each of the relays Biola has hit the mark in.
 
Danny Ledesma earned his first indoor qualifying time of the season in the 5,000m. He won the race, and hit the "B" qualifying standard (15:07.63). His time is currently the 20^th best in the nation.
 
Marc Opena again earned a victory in the 60m hurdles. He has run the race four times during this indoor season, and has won it on three of those occasions. He fell just eight-hundreths of a second shy of the national qualifying standard in his latest run.
 
No other national qualifying standards were hit, but Biola did get several more event winners, including Shane Brinson. Brinson sped through the 800m (2:00.12), and he took first place by more than four seconds over the second-place runner from Vanguard.
 
Kate Smiley came in at just over a minute in the 400m, leading a pack of eight runners. Nicole Falkenstein got the only other win on the day for the Eagles, as she and Taylor McCahon again took the top two spots in the Pole Vault. Falkenstein's vault of 3.53m is her new season-best.
 
Alicia Hoverson and Joshua Rancharan also walked away smiling, after getting second-place finishes in the 800m and 60m, respectively.
 
Biola concluded its standard indoor season with this event, but could be competing in some indoor events, such as the men's distance medley relay, in Saturday's Rossi Relays.
