MURRIETA, Calif. --- Biola Women's Golf Head Coach Jane Carr received her first commitment from a high school athlete for the 2015-16 season when Mychaela Graf signed her letter of intent last week.
 
Graf is a four-year varsity golfer with aspirations of one day playing on the LPGA Tour as a professional. She spent her last four seasons training and competing with the Mesa Rams of Murrieta Mesa High School.
 
The young golfer is in the middle of a very impressive high school career that already features three All-Valley League honors and a first-place finish in the Southwestern League finals in 2013. During her run at that league final tournament she shot a six-under 66 to tie the league record.
 
"I chose Biola because I really like the atmosphere of the campus and the people are so genuine," said Graf. "I am excited to pursue my passion of golf while getting a great education at the same time. My high school … has taught me to value every opportunity, and I believe this is an amazing one God has led me to."
 
Graf will join the Eagles in the fall of 2015 following her high school graduation this spring. She takes over for the lone senior on this year's squad, Whitney Jammerman. She plans to study kinesiology during her time as an Eagle.
 
She brings with her the experience of participating in three California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) finals tournaments. She tied for sixth place with a 66 in the most recent CIF Regionals and has also spent time grooming her leadership skills as captain of the Murrieta Mesa golf team.
 
Graf is no slouch in the classroom, earning a 3.6 cumulative grade point average to earn recognition as a scholar-athlete. She is also a four-year member of the school's student leadership group and is now the senior Vice President.
