Box Score Merced, Calif. --- It was another high scoring affair from the Eagles tonight. The 303-mile journey to UC Merced was worth the travel for the efficient Biola offense, as it recorded a season high 95 points en route to a 95-75 win.
 
Biola took control early in tonight's fast-paced game in Northern California. The Eagles' offense continued its hot streak as it shot 53 percent from the field and 43 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Despite missing two starters, Dakari Archer and Steve Herve, the Eagles separated themselves from the Bobcats from the very beginning. The tempo was high and Biola took advantage of it with some sharp shooting, but also dominated the glass as the Eagles out rebounded the Bobcats 45-23. The high tempo also made it possible for UC Merced to net 75 points despite shooting just 35 percent from the field.
 
Biola had nine players score, with five of those players scoring in double-digits. Biola's bench depth continues to rise as they await the return of its normal starters. For the second game in a row, almost all active Biola players got in the game. Those players helped the Eagles build a 20-point lead at halftime, dropping 51 points in the first 20 minutes.
 
Pierre Zook made his presence felt early in the game, making each of his first five three-point shots to accumulate 15 points in the first eight minutes of play. Zook's hot shooting continued tonight, as he finished 7-9 from three-point range and was 10-13 from the field. He finished with a season-high 27 points to lead all players on the floor.
 
Blake Shannon, Jr. got his first collegiate start on Saturday, and the freshman took advantage of the playing time. He fed into Zook's hot hand and led Biola with a game-high six assists.  The freshman point guard was efficient with his minutes on the floor and he was the game's second-best scorer with 14 points.
 
Mike Kurtz remained a steady low post presence and recorded his third consecutive double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
 
The Bobcats top performer was Michael Pierick, who led his team with 14 points and added a pair of rebounds to three assists.
 
He helped UC Merced to a much better second half as the Bobcats shot over 40 percent on field goals and scored 44 points in the frame.
 
Biola improves to a perfect 6-0 on the season with tonight's win, while UC Merced sits on the other end of the spectrum at 0-6.
 
The Eagles have a chance to continue their winning streak and streak of solid road performances against Pomona-Pitzer on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
