Box Score LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola's season-opening winning streak continued on Tuesday night with a 62-50 win over Bethesda University inside Chase Gymnasium. Returning players again played key to the victory with points flooding out of Mike Kurtz and Pierre Zook.
 
The senior duo led the Eagles with 17 and 19 points, respectively. Kurtz had a big first half and jumped up to 17 points within the first 25 minutes of play before focusing more on defense down the stretch. Zook landed five of his six three-point attempts to key another huge offensive night.
 
Biola took the lead immediately and never once relinquished it. The game was not as definitive a victory as they may have hoped, as the Eagles never led the Flames by more than 15 points. Biola defeated Bethesda by 20 points in their meeting last year.

The Eagles also got some prime minutes off the bench from Grant Corsi, who ended the game with 10 points, eight rebounds and a steal in 31 minutes of play.
 
Corsi filled in for Josh Throns as the Eagles' third guard. The Biola bench was forced into a lot of minutes as Steve Herve and Dakari Archer were limited to around 20 minutes a piece.
 
Outside of Corsi's 10 points there was not much in the way of offensive production for the Eagles, but the bench players were responsible for 17 of the Eagles' 35 rebounds.
 
The Eagles did a good job distributing the ball with double-digit assist numbers and a positive assist-to-turnover ratio (15-12). Colin Bossio led the way with six assists in his 20 minutes. He was 0-4 from the floor though, one of the very few Eagles who had off shooting nights.
 
Biola shot 48.8 percent as a team, which is their best shooting performance at home this season. Kurtz, Zook and Herve were key in building that strong shooting foundation. The trio missed just seven shots on 22 attempts.
 
Kurtz went 1-2 from distance as he opened the scoring with a made three-point shot for the second-straight contest.
 
The win helps Biola improve to 4-0 in the young season. It has a quick turnaround, facing La Sierra inside Chase Gymnasium tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
