LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Alyssa Mason had another very consistent week for Biola, helping the team to two three-set sweeps and a record for team hitting percentage. Her efforts got rewarded with her first career Golden State Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week nod.
 
Mason had 16 kills on the week, including a 6-for-8 performance in Biola's record-setting win over William Jessup on Saturday. Her .750 hitting percentage in that weekend match tied her with Joclyn Kirton and Amy Weststeyn for the best hitting percentage in a single match this season.
 
She did not commit a single attack error this week and hit for a combined total of .500. The junior outside hitter has accumulated 218 kills in her 71 sets played, good enough for just over three kills per set. She ranks second on the team in both categories, trailing just Weststeyn.
 
Mason is on a remarkable run of efficiency, making three or fewer attack errors in five out of seven conference games so far this season. She has one or zero attack errors in each of the last three matches she's appeared in.
 
Her award comes just one week after Lauren Hoenecke won the Eagles' second GSAC Volleyball Player of the Week award of the season.

Mason, Hoenecke and the Eagles have two more conference foes lined up this week, facing Westmont at home on Tuesday evening and traveling to Fullerton to face Hope International on Saturday.
