Women's Golf Gets Into the Swing of Things

Two scores in the med-80s and a few in the 90s is a good sign for the Eagles.

The Eagles got solid contributions from all six golfers in their one round in Menifee.
MENIFEE, Calif. --- It was a perfect day for a round of golf at Menifee Lakes Country Club and the Eagles women's golfers took advantage of it by getting a practice round in before the regular season begins.

Biola finished in third place at the Mt. San Jacinto College Lady Eagles golf tournament on Friday, with their five scorers shooting a combined score of 448.

"It was a nice practice outing for the women," said Head Coach Hank Woodrome. "We are looking forward to our first full tournament for both the men and women this week."

Senior captain Jackie Mata led the way shooting and 85 for BU, and fellow senior Megan Anderson followed close behind with an 87.

Jasmine Rodriguez, Beth Williams and Amanda Hobbs rounded out Biola's top five scores with a 90, 91 and 95. Freshman Annie Williams also contributed with a 108 in her first round as an Eagle.

Both golf squads are in action early this week with rounds on Monday and Tuesday. The women's team gets to play at prestigious Torrey Pines Golf Course, and the men travel to Hemet to play at Diamond Valley Golf Course.
