Box Score HELENA, Mont. --- It was heartbreak in the heartland on Saturday night as despite a total domination of possession and offensive control through most of the game the Eagles fell 3-2 to College of Idaho in overtime.
 
The overtime loss is Biola's first of the year, and brings them to 1-1 in the early season. They had plenty of opportunities to walk away with the win, but the ball rolled in favor of the Yotes when they took advantage of a defensive mishap to put away the breakaway opportunity.
 
The game started off in favor of BU as they were able to take advantage of ample offensive opportunities to get on the board first. Michelle Otto put the Eagles up 1-0 after scoring off an assist from Jessie Burns.
 
Biola out shot the Yotes 12-2 in the first half and seemed to have complete control of the game until the College of Idaho was able to take advantage of an awarded free kick by knocking in a header to equalize the match.
 
The Eagles did not stop pressing and continued to pile on the shots and scoring opportunities, ending the game with 18 shots, compared to College of Idaho's seven.
 
Each team was able to score one more time in regulation. The Eagles got their goal first off the foot of freshman Mariah Ziemer, the first goal of her career; she was assisted by another freshman, Taylor Venegas.
 
The Yotes then came up with another header off of another free kick call to equalize the match yet again. Regulation ended with the teams knotted at two, and overtime began with neither team having the home field advantage as the match was played at Carroll College.
 
The Yotes took advantage of the neutral site and forced an opportunity after some BU defenders were fooled and misplayed a pass. College of Idaho was able to get a 1-on-1 breakaway out of the play and put away the game winner to walk away with the tight overtime victory.
 
"I think it is safe to say we dominated the game," said Head Coach Todd Elkins. "But we squandered many opportunities and gave away some bad goals."
 
A positive note to take away from the loss is that three of the four players involved with the Eagles scoring efforts were freshmen, and the fourth was a sophomore, proving the depth of their young roster.
 
The win puts the Yotes at 1-1 on the season, after they suffered a loss to Carroll College on Friday.
 
Biola moves on to face Carroll on Monday.
