LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It had been a back-and-forth season for the Eagles through their first 13 games, as the team sat at 6-6-1 and was just 3-3 in Golden State Athletic Conference competition.
 
Then, on a Wednesday afternoon in mid-October, Biola made the trip to Fullerton to take on the Hope International Royals. HIU entered the contest in the same boat as Biola, they sat at 6-7-1 and were just 1-5 in the GSAC.
 
The game would be a turning point for both teams, as they looked to push forward and gain momentum in conference play.
 
It was a tightly contested battle, where neither team was able to notch a tally in regulation time. Biola did not lack opportunities to score as they took 22 shots in the game, seven of them on goal, and six of them resulting in saves by the Royals' goalie.
 
The defensive play by the Royals was impressive as it held off all out attacks by the Eagles forwards. It was not until 93:34 into the contest that Biola was able to put the game away.
 
On the Eagles' 22^nd attempt of the game Michelle Clark was able to bury a shot from 30 yards out, resulting in her first collegiate goal and Biola's seventh win of the season.
 
The win propelled the team to a six game winning streak, sparked by two consecutive overtime victories. The six straight wins ended up landing the Eagles in the GSAC finals where they would eventually fall 2-1 to Vanguard.
 
Biola ended the season 12-7-1 and finished third in the GSAC after going 7-3 in conference matchups.
