LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It was the record shattering run at this season's National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics swimming and diving championships that earns the distinction as the turning point of the year.
 
Sixteen school records fell over the course of the three-day competition in Oklahoma City as the women's team set a program record with their seventh place finish, and the men also finished in the top 10, placing eighth.
 
In addition to the record-setting performances and strong team finish, six performances shined enough to earn the distinction of NAIA All-American. Eric Sirjord became the first Eagle to swim the 1,650m in under 16 minutes and placed second to become an All-American. Christine TIxier finished second in the 200m butterfly, third in the 200m IM and she won the national title in the 100m butterfly, adding three All-American honors. Chris Stutzman also added two All-American honors by finishing third in the 100m freestyle and leading the 400m freestyle relay to a third place finish.
 
This is Tixier's second consecutive year of incredible accomplishments at the national level. Last season she owned the butterfly competition at the NAIA championships and set the NAIA record for the 100m butterfly. This was only her sophomore year, which leaves her two more seasons to lead the Eagles in the pool.
 
Sirjord impressed in just his freshman year, becoming a strong competitor in his individual events as well as the relays.
 
The NAIA national championship meet was a successful one for the 2012-2013 team, and a good sign of what is to come in 2013-2014.
