MARION, Ind. --- Biola wrapped up the 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday with the highlight coming from its all-freshman 4x800 relay team, which earned All-America honors on Friday afternoon at Indiana Welseyan University.

Biola continued its recent success in the mid-distance relay as the all-freshman team of Kellian Hunt, Anika Gasner, Alisa Murray and Alicia Hoverson finishing fifth in 9:14.03, earning All-America honors in the vent.

This is the first time the relay has earned All-America honors at the outdoor championships, but the relay has earned All-America honors for four-straight at the indoor championships.

Hunt earned her sixth All-American award, earning one for cross country, four in indoor track and now one in outdoor track. Gasner is now a three-time All-American, Hoverson is a two-time All-American while Murray earned her first All-America honor.

On Saturday, the Eagles closed out the meet with a pair of competitors in action. Hunt placed ninth overall in the 1500 with a time of 4:37.25. Jeff Tran also competed in the pole vault, but failed to clear the starting height.

Indiana Tech took home team honors on both the men's and women's side. Biola recorded six points on the women's side to tie for 37th.

The NAIA also released its list of track and field scholar-athletes and Biola had 14 members between the two teams including 10 on the women's side. A student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have reached junior academic status.

Representing the Biola women's team were Jessica Airey, Megan Dwight, Lauren Houck, Chelsea Janzen, Mary Larson, Taylor McCahon, Kasey Schalich, Alexandra Sciarra, Rachel Stump and Sarah Vaughan. On the men's side, Alex Calkins, Andrew Edmondson, Tyler Nieves and Peter Stacy were recognized.
