LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola returned to GSAC play on Saturday, but suffered a tough 8-1 loss to No. 5 Westmont at the Biola Tennis Center.
The Eagles (1-10, 1-5 GSAC) battled hard against the GSAC-leading Warriors, improving greatly since the teams first met. However, Biola was unable to get more than one victory. That came in singles and in impressive fashion.
Kathryn Ashford opeend up her set at No. 1 singles with a dominating 6-0 victory in the first set. In the second, she trailed 3-4, but rallied to win the next three games to take the second set 6-4.
The doubles matches were all realaviley close--much closer than the final scores would indicate. The closest match came at No. 2 doubles as
Lauren Vogel and
Olivia Koelsch battled hard but lost 8-5.
Biola hosts Vanguard on Tuesday in another GSAC matchbeginning at 2:00 p.m.
