PALM SPRINGS, Calif. --- Playing amidst some top competition from outside of the area, Biola's women's golf team put together a solid fourth-place finish to close out the regular season at the Augustana College Spring Fling at the Classic Club in Palm Springs on Thursday and Friday.

The Eagles finished with a score of 697, placing 26 shots better than NCAA Division II Adams State University (Colo.) for fourth place. St. Edwards University (Texas)--another NCAA DII school--won the event with a 597.

Ava Lourenco placed 15th overall with a two-round total of 167, 23 shots over par. She carded a 84 and 83. Jackie Mata, who was playing as an individual, was close behind in 17th place, one shot back after finishing with an 81 on the second day.

Jasmine Rodriguez and Lauren Marlow tied for 22nd place with a 172 while Megan Anderson (31st - 186) and Beth Williams (35th - 193) rounded out the field.

Biola's next competition is the 2013 NAIA Qualifier on April 15-16 at the Diamond Woods Golf Course in Monroe, Ore.
