SAN MARCOS, Calif. --- Biola had three golfers finish below 80 including a career-best 77 from senior Beth Williams as the Eagles finished fifth out of eight teams at the Cal State San Marcos Lady Cougar Invitational at the Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos on Monday and Tuesday.

Biola dropped nearly 20 strokes in the second-round to finish at 655, 14 shots out of fourth place University of Victora and 11 ahead of sixth-place University of Redlands. CSUSM won its own tournament with a 598.

Ava Lourenco was Biola's top finisher overall, carding a two-round total of 154 (78-76) to finish tied for 10th overall. Lauren Marlow was close behind in 14th with a 157 (82-76). Williams opened with a first-round 90, but followed with a career-best round of 77. At one point, Williams had eight-straight pars and added a birdie on the 10th. She finished in 23rd overall with a 167.

Jasmine Rodriguez (178) and Jackie Mata (187) rounded out the field for the Eagles.

Biola returns to the links on March 14-15, competing in the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert.
