THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. --- Biola continued to improve in each match, putting together a number of close sets, but ultimately falling 6-3 at California Lutheran University in a non-conference match on Friday afternoon.
The Eagles (0-4) opened the day with a strong showing at No. 2 doubles as
Kathryn Ashford and
Susan Carmichael teamed up for an easy 8-0 win. At No. 1 doubles,
Alisha Hansen and
Olivia Koelsch battled hard, but lost a few points at the end, falling 8-4 in a match that was much closer than the final score.
Ashford and Carmichael accounted for Biola's other two wins as well. Ashford won at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sarah Baker while Carmichael won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
The Eagles return to GSAC play on Saturday, traveling south to face Concordia University at 10:00 a.m.
