LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola got a close victory at No. 1 doubles as
David Mossman and
Isaiah Pekary collected a win, but the Eagles were unable to pull out any more victories, falling 8-1 to Chapman University in a non-conference match at the Biola Tennis Center on Thursday.
The Eagles drop to 0-3 on the season with the Panthers improving to 2-1.
Mossman and Pekary were able to pull out a close 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles, defeating Troy Akin and Bret Buford for the point.
Brandon Chang played a close match at No. 3 singles, but Buford was able to pull out both sets 7-6 in tiebreakers.
Biola returns to the courts on Friday, traveling to Pasadena to take on Cal Tech in a non-conference match at 3:00 p.m.
