LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Mike Annunziata and his black team completed the 3-0 sweep of the red team at Eagles Diamond on Thursday afternoon, coming away with a 6-3 victory in the third game of the fall Red vs. Black series.
 
The black team won the best of five series after outscoring their counterparts 18-5 over the course of 22 innings played.
 
The black squad broke out to a 6-1 lead going into the bottom of the final frame, where Bryan Castelli found himself in a bases loaded jam as the red team threatened a comeback to keep the series alive.
 
Castelli gave up two runs in his second inning of relief, but eventually got the game-tying run out at the plate to end the game and the series for Annunziata's squad.
 
Sean Rothfuss got the start for black and pitched five strong innings allowing just one run off four hits. He struck out one and walked one as he held the red team at bay, just as black has done all series long.
 
The Eagles intrasquad series concluded after black's 6-3 win, and the team will join back together in order to take on Taft CC in their second fall game this Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
