Yancosek Shines In Game Two Shutout

Jesse Yancosek pitched a complete game shutout in black team's 8-0 win over red.

Black came out on top of the red squad in game two and lead the series 2-0.
LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The best of five series between Biola's red and black team continued on Tuesday afternoon and the black team extended their lead in the series to two games after an eight to nothing victory.

Jesse Yancosek went the distance for the black squad, pitching seven shutout innings to down the red team. He had to work to get the shutout, but a few key strikeouts helped him pitch out of some jams to get the win.

Captain Mike Annunziata and newcomer Julian Jarrard both had multi-hit games for the black team as it displayed its offensive force throughout the game, coming up with five runs in 5.1 innings against red team starter Garrett Picha.

Andres Rodriguez, a middle infielder imported from USC, set the table for the black team, finding his was on base three times and picking up a run and RBI. Jimmy Gallarda and Andrew Frank, the key bats for the black team in their game one win also had a good day at the dish on Tuesday.

The big story throughout was the dominating performance by Yancosek, who kept red hitters guessing all day with his pitch selection. The big righty proved he was worthy of being selected first overall in the draft and worthy of being brought to Biola from Saddleback College.

Annunziata's black squad now has a 2-0 lead on Sam Thorne's red squad as the series moves into game three at Eagles Diamond on Thursday.
