LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It was a week filled with great moments for Biola athletics, and to top it all off, three Eagles were named Golden State Athletic Conference players of the week for games played Oct. 21-27.
 
Joclyn Kirton was awarded GSAC volleyball player of the week after leading Biola to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-23) win over No. 11 The Master's College. Kirton picked up a team-leading 12 kills in the game, her sixth straight with 12 or more. She also added two solo blocks, in a game where there were only three solo blocks between both squads. Kirton is the Eagles' second volleyball player of the week in a row, Tara Rallis won the honor last week. This is the first time in her career that Kirton has won this award.
 
Joey O'Keefe double his season goal tally last week by putting three goals in the back of the net while leading Biola to a 2-0 week. The No. 22 Eagles put up two shutouts against conference foes Hope International and No. 12 Concordia. O'Keefe scored twice in Biola's 4-0 win over the Royals and tacked on the game-winner in BU's upset over CUI. BU is the first team to beat Concordia on their turf since 2011, ending a streak of 17 straight wins. This is O'Keefe's first career conference honor.
 
JT Addington was the man between the pipes for all 180 minutes of Biola's two-shutout week. The sophomore keeper picked up his seventh and eighth shutouts of the season and currently ranks second in the GSAC and 18^th in the nation with a 0.780 goals against average. This is also his first career conference honor. O'Keefe was named men's soccer offensive player of the week while Addington brought home the defensive player of the week.
 
All conference player of the week winners are entered into the pool for national player of the week, which is selected by an NAIA committee and announced later this week.
