MALIBU, Calif. --- While the women's squad went up to Alaska to dual with Alaska-Fairbanks, the men's swimming contingent made the jump to Malibu to compete individually at the 2013 Malibu Invite.
 
Andrew Corl, Chad LeJeune, Brandon Hughes and Kenny Alcosiba paced Biola with strong finishes in multiple events.
 
The Eagles performed well at the meet, putting up solid times and finishes against participants from Pepperdine, Concordia, SOKA, Pomona-Pitzer, Azusa Pacific, Cal Lutheran and Loyola Marymount.
 
Biola swimmers earned 10 top-six finishes over the course of the day in the packed pool. Corl began the meet well for BU, finishing five seconds back in fifth place in the 200-backstroke (2:03.56).
 
LeJeune and Alcosiba kept the good swims going in the 200-breaststroke, placing fifth and seventh in the 16-man race. LeJeune also had two of the best swims of the day for BU to place second in the 50-backstroke (:26.45) and the 100-breaststroke. The freshman lost the 100-breaststroke by just .17 seconds and was just .21 off the school record.
 
Alcosiba would not be outdone, finishing second in the 200-individual medley, just .15 seconds behind Lucas Spencer of Concordia. His time was just a few seconds off of Head Coach Eddie Shepard's school record in the IM. He also finished sixth in the 100-breaststroke.

The men's team rejoins the women's squad next Saturday for a home dual meet against Azusa Pacific at Lansing Pool.
