Box Score LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola received an early goal from Michelle Andre, then added three more in the second half in a 4-1 victory over UC Santa Cruz in its final non-conference match of the season on Friday night at Al Barbour Field.

The Eagles wrap up its pre-conference schedule with a 3-3-1 record while the Banana Slugs drop to 4-5-0 on the season.

Both teams came out firing in the first half, but it was Biola which struck first. In the 39th minute, the Eagles won a corner kick, already their fourth of the match. Taylor Lundquist took the kick and fired it into the box where Andre headed it into the goal to make it 1-0. It was Andre's first goal of the year and the first assist for Lundquist.

The match would stay 1-0 through the rest of the half and into the first seven minutes of the second half. In the 54th minute, Natalie Oliver made a great run down the near side of the field and send a low cross into the box. Brittany Barr flicked it on to a wide-open Miranda Starbeck at the far-side of the goal mouth where she easily touched it into the net to make it 2-0.

Just 11 minutes later, Biola netted its most impressive goal of the season. Katie Cabuling created space and sent a pass back to Lundquist, who took one touch and blasted a shot from 30 yards out on a line into the upper corner of the far post to make it 3-0. Lundquist's shot could not have been placed any closer to the cross bar or the right post, sneaking in under the upper V.

Biola would add the finishing touch on a great play by Jessica Austin. After a good scoring chance by the Banana Slugs, the junior took the clearance pass and beat a pair of UC Santa Cruz defenders with a nice move. She then sprinted in alone toward goal, beating the keeper with a nice move and firing into the back of the net to make it 4-0 in the 69th minute.

UC Santa Cruz broke the change for a Biola shutout with a goal with 36 seconds left in the game. Sara Sadler broke away down the near side and lofted a shot over the on-rushing keeper to make it a 4-1 contest.

Marina Rodriguez was solid in goal making a pair of saves including a great diving stop on Sadler in the 78th minute. She didn't get the shutout but did earn the win, her first collegiate victory.

The Eagles now prep for GSAC play, which begins with a tough set of road matches next week. On Tuesday, Biola heads north to face No. 24 The Master's College in its GSAC opener at 4:00 pm, then takes on No. 16 Concordia University in Irvine on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
