LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The Biola University athletics department launched an updated athletics website and officially released updated athletic logos completing a year-long process to refresh and streamline the department's online and on-field presence.
The new logos were designed by Phoenix Design Works of Maplewood, New Jersey, and include word marks, sport-specific logos and an updated look for the Biola Eagles. The updated logos help unify the look of the 19 Biola varsity athletic teams and will be a part of all new uniforms for the teams debuting throughout the 2012-13 seasons.
"Phoenix Design Works did a fantastic job coming up with a uniform look for the Biola athletic department, incorporating the existing Eagles and word marks emphasizing the unique Biola name," said Biola Sports Information Director Jeff Hoffman, who headed up the project. "The consistent, uniform look of the new logos will help make Biola athletics more recognizable."
Additionally, the Biola University athletics website (http://athletics.biola.edu) underwent an upgrade over the summer culminating with Thursday's re-launch. Biola is pleased to once again partner with SIDEARM Sports to provide the athletics website for the sixth year.
The update has made the website more user-friendly while incorporating a graphical redesign which features the new logos and marks. The site also puts greater emphasis on video and photos while incorporating some of the most popular social media platforms.
"We are once again pleased to partner with SIDEARM sports to offer one of the most dynamic and visually-appealing websites in the conference and the NAIA," said Hoffman, who manages the athletics website. "The partnership allows us to continue to offer the latest news and information on Biola Athletics fans have come to expect while also providing additional opportunities for features such as video, photo galleries, mobile alerts and more."
