LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola's women's soccer team will host 10 of the 17 games on its 2012 regular-season schedule released by Head Coach Todd Elkins on Monday afternoon.

The Eagles open the 2012 slate with a pair of scrimmages at NCAA Division II schools Cal Poly Pomona (Aug. 17) and Cal State LA (Aug. 25) before opening the regular-season at DII Cal State San Bernardino on Aug. 28.

Biola opens the home portion of its schedule against Colorado Christian University on Aug. 30, hosting the Cougars for the second time in three years.

The Eagles face off against long-time arch-rival Azusa Pacific University in an exhibition game in Azusa on Sept. 1 before returning home for a four of its next five games.

Biola starts the stretch by hosting Marymount College on Sept. 4 and Pomona-Pitzer College on Sept. 8. After a road contest at Cal State San Marcos on Sept. 11, the Eagles come back home to La Mirada to host Carroll College (Mont.) on Sept. 14 and NCAA Division III power UC Santa Cruz on Sept. 21. All four games kick-off at 7:00 p.m.

GSAC play is a bit different in 2012 as the league moves to eight teams. Biola plays Arizona Christian, Concordia and The Master's in a home-and-home series while taking on Hope International, San Diego Christian, Vanguard and Westmont just once for a 10-game conference schedule. The six teams with the best conference record at the end of the season qualify for the GSAC Tournament with the top two teams receiving a bye.

The Eagles open GSAC play with a pair of road games, traveling to The Master's College on Sept. 25 and then to Irvine to face Concordia University on Sept. 29. Biola's home GSAC opener is on Oct. 3 against conference newcomer Arizona Christian University.

Biola heads back on the road for a match against Westmont College on Oct. 6, then returns home for a pair of matches against San Diego Christian College on Oct. 10 and Vanguard University on Oct. 13.

The Eagles play two final road games, traveling to Fullerton to face Hope International University on Oct. 17 and making the long trek to Arizona Christian University on Oct. 23. Biola's remaining home games come against Concordia University on Oct. 20 and a senior night match against The Master's College on Oct. 27.

The Eagles had one of its best seasons in program history in 2011, finishing 10-6-1 including going 7-1-1 over its final eight games of the regular season. Biola finished second in the GSAC with a 7-2-0 record, but was inexplicably passed up for a berth in the NAIA National Tournament. The Eagles return all but two players from that team.
