LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Former Biola women's soccer player Amy Atkinson will be one of eight athletes representing Guam and competing against the top athletes in the world at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England. Atkinson, who is now a competitive track and field athlete, qualified in the 800m run which begins on Wednesday, August 8.

Atkinson is currently wrapping up her pre-Olympic tour at the Oceania Championships in Cairns, Australia, competing in the 800 and 1500 where she placed third and fifth, respectively. She returns to Guam on July 2nd, then heads to England on July 4th to begin training and preparations for the Games.
