LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Coming off another strong season featuring a return trip to the NAIA National Quarterfinals, Biola Head Coach Aaron Seltzer has put together another challenging schedule which includes 13 matches against teams in last year's national tournament and matches against all but two other teams in the Top 11 of the 2011 NAIA Postseason Poll.

The Eagles, who finished the 2011 season ranked No. 5 in the NAIA Postseason Poll, open the 2012 slate with three-straight tournaments. Biola opens the season with a trip to Southern Oregon University to take part in the Paul Elliott Invitational (Aug. 17-18) featuring a showdown against No. 11 Southern Oregon on Friday night.

The following week, the Eagles once again host their own tournament, the 2012 Biola University/Red Lion Hotel-Anaheim Summer Slam on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 23-24. The field has expanded to 13 teams with eight teams appearing in the 2011 NAIA National Tournament. Biola faces three of those teams, taking on No. 9 Rocky Mount College (Mont.) and No. 7 College of Idaho on Thursday, then facing No. 10 Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) on Friday.

The Eagles return to the Concordia University Labor Day Festival (Aug. 31-Sept 1) in Irvine the following weekend. The field features a number of tough teams with Biola taking on a pair of perennial powers on Saturday in No. 3 Lee University (Tenn.) and Northwestern College (Iowa).

The pre-conferenece schedule ends on Sept. 7 with a pair of non-conference matches at Vanguard University as the Eagles take on La Sierra University--a 2011 NAIA Tournament team--and Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Ohio).

Biola opens GSAC play on Sept. 15, traveling to face The Master's College at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles face one of the key challengers for the GSAC crown in their home opener, facing No. 14 Vanguard University on Sept. 18.

The Eagles then hit the road for two matches including a trip to battle GSAC newcomer Arizona Christian University in Phoenix on Sept. 25.

Biola takes on Westmont the following Saturday (Sept. 29) looking to exact revenge as the Warriors swept the season series in 2011.

A new GSAC rivalry will begin with the Eagles hosting NAIA National Runner-Up and defending GSAC champ Concordia University on Saturday, Oct. 6 as part of Biola's Homecoming festivities.

On Thursday (Oct. 18), the Eagles travel back to San Diego for old-time sake, taking on former GSAC foe Point Loma Nazarene University before opening the second-half of conference play.

One of the marquee matchups for Biola in 2012 is another home battle against defending NAIA National Champ Texas-Brownsville. The Saturday afternoon match on Oct. 27 is a rematch of last season's thriller where the Eagles upset the Scorpions, handing them their first loss of the year and one of just two overall on the season.

Biola closes out the regular season with a pair of tough matches. The first of which is the final GSAC match of the season against Concordia on Nov. 10 in Irvine. The Eagles then renew the battle against former arch-rival Azusa Pacific University, hosting the Cougars in the final game of the regular season on Nov. 13.

The NAIA National Championships begin with the opening round on campus sites (Nov. 17) for teams seeded No. 13-36 in the tournament field. The winners of those matches along with the other 12 teams advance to the NAIA Championship final site at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa, which takes place Nov. 27-Dec. 1.

Biola returned to the NAIA National Quarterfinals for the second-straight year and the 10th time in 11 NAIA Tournament appearances, posting a 27-13 overall record (10-8 GSAC). The Eagles graduated three seniors, but return 13 players including three-time NAIA All-American Christine Douglas and All-American and NAIA/AVCA Freshman of the Year Amy Weststeyn. Biola also adds seven newcomers to the squad.
