LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Lauren Vogel and Shamariah De Rojas picked up a win at No. 3 doubles but despite close matches all around, Biola suffered an 8-1 loss to Occidental College in a non-conference match on Friday at the Biola Tennis Center.

The Eagles drop to 0-9 with the loss while the Tigers improve to 2-2.

De Rojas and Vogel picked up a solid victory at No. 3 doubles, beating Sarah Chareny and Julie Housman 8-3. The other two doubles matches were close as well with Jessica Thong and Danielle Calbeck falling just 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.

Thong also had a close match at No. 5 singles, dropping a third-set tiebreaker 10-6 after splitting the first two.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday, traveling to Northridge to face The Master's College in a GSAC match at 1:00 p.m.
