COMPLETE GAME NOTES) Biola's men's basketball team looks to reach the quarterfinals for third-straight season, but have a tough task against the highest-scoring team in the NAIA, facing off against No. 7 Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) at 4:30 p.m. CT (2:30 p.m. ET) in the second round of the 2012 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championships at the Municipal Auditorium on Friday.
The Eagles advanced to the second round with a 69-57 victory over No. 23 Campbellsville University (Ky.) in the first round. Biola improves to 14-5 overall in first-round games with the win--its ninth-straight victory and 14th in the last 15 overall.
The second round game features one of the highest-scoring teams in the NAIA against one of the country's best defenses. The Saints feature a fast-paced offense and high-pressured defense designed to score early and often. As a result, the Saints lead the NAIA in scoring offense averaging 100.3 points per game and have scored 3,309 points in 34 games--also tops in the NAIA.
The winner of tonight's game advances to the quarterfinal round to face the winner of the game between No. 2 Oklahoma Baptist University and No. 15 Columbia College (Mo.) on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. CT (4:00 p.m. PT).
