Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Biola received solid games from its big men with Andre Murillo scoring 16 points and Kaimarr Price adding 14 as the Eagles beat Campbellsville University 69-57 in the first round of the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championships Wednesday at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.

The 10th-seeded Eagles extend their winning streak to nine games and have now won 14 of their last 15 games, improving to 26-8 on the season. They play Our Lady of the Lake in a second round game at 4:30 p.m. CT (2:30 p.m. PT) on Thursday afternoon. Our Lady of the Lake defeated Baker University 103-88 right after the Biola victory.

The Tigers, ranked No. 23 in the final NAIA National Pool, fall to 21-12 after suffering their fourth loss in their last five games.

The inside duo of Murillo and Price had a solid start to the tournament, combining for 30 points, 11 rebounds and just three turnovers. Murillo was 5-of-10 from the field with three boards and two steals while Price hit 6-of-12 with eight rebounds and a block.

Zack Zaragoza was key off the bench for the Eagles, scoring 12 points and adding eight rebounds in 16 minutes of play. He ignited the offense in the second half with a pair of big three-pointers. Davey Hopkins contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.

"We beat a good team out there today," said Biola Head Coach Dave Holmquist. "We were solid. They are well-coached and have good shooters. We had to play well to beat them."

Justin Ennis was about the only option on offense for Campbellsville, scoring 25 of the team's 57 points. Ennis was 9-of-18 in the game and hit 4-of-11 from three-point range.

Biola got off to a quick start, using an 11-0 run to jump out to a quick 13-5 lead eight minutes into the game. The Tigers cut the lead to one on a short burst, getting a fastbreak layup to make it 15-14 at the 7:11 mark. Still up one a minute later, Biola got a big three from Zaragoza, who then rebounded the next missed shot leading to a Hopkins bucket to stretch the lead back to six.

The Eagles would close the half on a 5-0 run and took a 29-20 lead to the break. Biola had a balanced offensive effort through the first 20 minutes with each of its seven players scoring at least two points.

Campbellsville came out strong to start the second half, scoring five-straight to quickly close to four at 29-25 just over 1-1/2 minutes in. But once again the Eagles responded, using an 8-0 run to go up 37-25 three minutes later.

Biola seemed to be ready to cruise into the second round, leading by 13 at 51-38 with 7:51 left. But Campbellsville had one last run in it, using a 8-1 run over the next two minutes to pull within six at 52-46.

The Eagles quickly answered back with four-straight points to make it a double-digit game once again and did not allow the Tigers closer than eight the rest of the way.

Biola had two keys in the game: playing solid defense and rebounding strong. The Eagles did both, forcing 14 turnovers and holding a commanding 39-20 rebounding advantage including a 10-2 edge on the offensive end.

"It was a good first game for us," said Holmquist. "We had some lapses but we did a good job overcoming them."

In addition, the Eagles held Mid-South Conference player of the Year Cedric Henderson scoreless in the game. The senior, who averaged 16.6 points per game this season, went 0-for-2 in the contest but did have four assists and three steals.

The Eagles advanced to the NAIA Second Round for the third-straight year and are now 24-18 all-time in tournament games. Biola, which is making its 19th trip to the NAIA Tournament, has only been knocked out in the first round in five of those trips and is now 14-5 in first-round games.
