LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola junior guard Given Kalipinde has been named the final GSAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the 2011-12 season after leading the team to a pair of GSAC wins to wrap up the regular season last week.

Kalipinde, who also earned the honor earlier in the season, had a total of 31 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists, 10 steals and was 12-of-22 (.545) from the field in two games last week. The junior helped guide Biola to wins which helped secure second place in the final GSAC standings.

Kalipinde scored 14 points and added 11 rebounds, four steals and two assists while hitting 6-of-9 from the field in just 23 minutes of BIola's 76-45 win over San Diego Christian College on Tuesday. He followed that up with a 17-point performance on Saturday in the Eagles' 78-72 victory over The Master's College, also contributing nine rebounds, six steals and five assists.

The junior is Biola's leader in numerous offensive categories and leads the GSAC in steals with 63. He also ranks second in the conference with 7.9 rebounds per game and leads the team with 84 assists. Kalipinde also ranks second on the team in blocks with 15 and is third in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per game. 

Biola closed out the regular season with 10 wins in its last 11 games to move into a three-way tie for second place in the conference with a 12-6 GSAC record and a 22-8 overall mark. The Eagles moved back into the NAIA Top 25 for the first time since early in the season, coming in at No. 19 in the latest NAIA Division I Coaches Poll. Biola opens the postseason on Thursday as the No. 3 seed in the tournament, hosting The Master's College in a first-round match-up beginning at 7:30 p.m.
