THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. --- Biola had a few close matches but lost a 9-0 non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon at California Lutheran University.

The Eagles (0-6 overall) had a pair of close matches in the contest. The first was a hotly contested match at No. 3 doubles where Shelby Smith and Kelly Thompson fought hard before ultimately losing 8-6.

In the singles competition, Danielle Calbeck lost the first set 6-2, but battled back and nearly picked up a second-set win, falling 7-6 in her No. 4 singles match.

Biola returns to action on Saturday, traveling to San Diego to face Point Loma Nazarene in a GSAC match beginning at 1:00 p.m.
