AZUSA, Calif. --- Biola closed out the regular-season portion of its 2012 indoor track and field schedule at the Azusa Pacific University Last Chance meet and improved on a number of national qualifying times and marks with a number of PRs as well on Saturday.

While there were no new national qualfiers, the Eagles saw much improvement with those already qualified.

Taylor McCahon improved her mark in the women's vault by clearing 3.60 meters (11 feet-9.75 inches), the best of her indoor season so far. On the men's side, Alex Calkins won the men's vault by clearing 4.55 meters (14-11) for his best mark of the season.

In other field events, Jordan Smith finished second in the high jump by clearing 1.9 meters (6-3). 

The mile was another successful event for Biola on Saturday with four personal best times being recorded. For the women, Carly Tillery crossed in 5:41.44 with three men earning PRs: Joseph Harabedian (4:36.24), Kyle Norman (4:41.08) and Scott Weir (4:43.37).

In the 60 hurdles, Maggie Andersen recorded  PR with a time of 9.54, just missing the national cut by a quarter of a second.

Ashley Bush ran a season best so far in the 400 with a 59.99 which was good enough for third place. Tyler Sharp also had a personal best in the event with a 49.95.

Overall, Biola has qualified 17 athlete's for the Indoor National Championships March 1-3 at the SPIRE Institute Sports Complex in Geneva, Ohio.
