LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the second time in as many matches against nationally-ranked teams, the No. 3 doubles team of
Isaiah Pekary and
Anthony Sena pulled off a big victory. However it would be Biola's only win on the day in an 8-1 loss to No. 1 Fresno Pacific on Thursday.
The Eagles (1-2, 0-2 GSAC) had a tough time against the Sunbirds (3-0, 2-0 GSAC), though there were a number of close matches all around.
The No. 3 doubles team--fresh off its win over against No. 8 Vanguard on Tuesday--picked up another big win, scoring an 8-4 decision on Thursday. Pekary and Sena are a perfect 3-0 at No 3 doubles this season.
Sena also played well at No. 6 singles, forcing a second-set tiebreaker which was ultimately pulled out by his FPU opponent.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday, hosting No. 11 Concordia in a GSAC match at 2:00 p.m. at the Biola Tennis Center.
