LA MIRADA, Calif. --- BIola suffered a tough 9-0 defeat at home against Cal Tech in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon at the Biola Tennis Center.

The Eagles drop to 0-2 on the season while the Beavers move to 2-1.

Biola had a rough go of things, starting out with three losses at doubles, two by 8-4 scores. In singles competition, Biola had a good showing at No. 4 singles where Danielle Calbeck forced a tiebreaker. After losing the first set 6-4, she rallied to take the second 7-6. However, Calbeck would fall in the third by a count of 10-6.

Biola opens GSAC play on Tuesday, traveling to Costa Mesa to face Vanguard University at 2:00 p.m.
