LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Solid showings at the NAIA Championships by the Biola University women's cross country and volleyball teams helped the Eagles score 143 points and move into a tie for 18th place out of over 100 NAIA schools receiving points in the final fall standings of the 2012-13 NAIA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings released this week.

Biola scored 60 points thanks to a strong showing by the cross country team which won its second GSAC title in three years and placed 10th overall at the NAIA National Championship race in November.

Later that month, the Eagles' volleyball team reached the NAIA National Semifinals to score 83 points, finishing the season with an impressive 31-5 overall record.

Biola was one of four GSAC teams in the top 25 of the Directors' Cup Standings. Concordia was fifth overall with 227 points with The Master's in 22nd place with 130 points followed by Westmont in 24th with 120 points.

Biola has finished ranked in the 20 in the final standings the last four seasons.

The Learfield Sports Director's Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.
