LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola was well represented on the All-Golden State Athletic Conference team as senior Christine Douglas, juniors Chelsee Arnitz and Gracee Gallarda and sophomore Amy Weststeyn were named to the all-conference squad announced on Wednesday.

The quartet of Eagles were the most for Biola on the All-GSAC team since placing four on the team in 1998.

Douglas, an outside hitter from Cypress, made her third-straight appearance on the all-conference squad. Douglas led the GSAC and ranked 18th in the NAIA in kills per set, averaging 4.00 after recording 332 on the season. She also is tied for the highest attack percentage from ago outside hitter at .291.

"Christine has continued to perform well this year, leading the conference in kills while being the one player every team game plans for," said Head Coach Aaron Seltzer. "She has been an ancho on the outside for us all year."

Also repeating as an All-GSAC selection was Weststeyn. The sophomore middle blocker from Visalia--who was named the NAIA Freshman of the Year last year--continued her dominance in the middle. She ranked second in the GSAC and third in the NAIA in attack percentage at .407 and led the GSAC in blocks per set at 1.05. Weststeyn also recorded 257 kills, averaging 2.92 per set, which ranked ninth the GSAC.

"Amy has really grown in her sophomore year for us and has had to carry much of the load defensively for us," said Seltzer. "She had established herself as one of the top three middles in the GSAC. We have leaned heavily on her all year and she has performed well."

Arnitz, a junior middle blocker from Yorba Linda, led the conference in attack percentage with a .423 mark, barely missing the minimums to also lead the NAIA in that category. She finished 13th in the GSAC in kills, averaging 2.48 and recording 190 on the season, while placing 12th in blocks with 41--0.68 per set.

"Chelsee has had a break out year for us and has quietly led the conference in attack percentage," said Seltzer. "Chelsee has single-handedly won critical conference matches for us. She has been so efficient offensively for us and a reason for much of our success this season."

Gallarda, a junior setter also from Yorba Linda, transitioned well to Biola's true 5-1 offense this season. She led the GSAC and ranked ninth in the NAIA with 10.92 assists per set, with 47 percent of her sets leading to kills. In addition she led the team in and ranked sixth in the conference in aces with 31 and also added 31 blocks.

"Gracee really answered the call for us this year in the true 5-1 offense," said Seltzer. "I have been so impressed with her defense, leadership and ability to run down balls like no one else. Because of her speed and athleticism, she has been very offensive of us while at the same time turning bad situations into very manageable attempts."

Biola and Concordia each led the way with four players on the all-conference team. Concordia senior Brooke Marino was named the GSAC Player of the Year for the second-straight year while The Master's College's Robert Blaken was named the GSAC Coach of the Year.

Biola finished the regular season with a 27-4 record and was ranked No. 4 in the final regular season national poll. The Eagles make their sixth-straight NAIA National Tournament appearance in two weeks, opening with the first match of pool play on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
