LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Junior forward Jessica Austin and sophomore goalkeeper Briana Williams were named the Golden State Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The Eagles picked up their third and fourth-straight wins this week, beating Arizona Christian University 2-0 on Tuesday, then knocking off No. 23 The Master's College 3-1 on Saturday. The victories moved Biola into third place in the final GSAC standings with a 7-3-0 conference mark and a 10-6-1 overall record.

Williams, a sophomore from Prescott, Ariz., played a key role in a pair of Biola victories. On Tuesday, Williams was forced to make three big second-half saves in the win at Arizona Christian, earning her GSAC-leading sixth shutout of the season. She followed that up with a five-save performance to help Biola upset The Master's 3-1 in the regular season-finale. 

It was the second-straight week Williams has earned GSAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Currently, she ranks second in the GSAC with a 0.84 goals against average and has a 8-4-1 overall record for the Eagles.

Austin, a junior from Pasadena, Calif., scored three goals--including two match-winners--and added an assist the Eagles' two wins last week. The junior forward scored both of the Eagles' goals in a 2-0 win at Arizona Christian University on Tuesday. On Saturday, she scored the eventual match-winning goal early in the second half, tapping home a long cross to give Biola a 2-0 lead over The Master's. The Mustangs scored one to make it close, but Austin assisted on a goal as time expired to put the match away.

Austin leads the team with six goals and 15 points on the season. She had a hand in seven of Biola's last nine goals, scoring four goals and adding three assists over the last five matches--four of them wins.

Biola returns to action on Tuesday, hosting Hope International University in the GSAC Tournament Opening Round match slated to kick-off at 7:00 p.m. on Al Barbour Field.
