Briana Williams has been selected as the Golden State Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 21 after helping Biola to a pair of victories.
Williams, a sophomore goalkeeper from Prescott, Ariz., recorded a pair of overtime wins for the Eagles last week, making a total of seven saves and allowin gjust one goal in 192 minutes of work.
Williams recorded three saves in posting her fifth shutout of the season as Biola beat Hope International 1-0 in Fullerton. She followed that up with four saves, allowing just one goal in Biola's 2-1 upset vicotry over No. 23 Concordia.
For the season, Williams is 6-4-1 in goal and has an impressive 0.90 goals against average. She has recorded five shutouts and made 24 saves on the year.
Biola hits the road to start its final week of the regular season, traveling to Phoenix to face Arizona Christian Univeristy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles close out the regular season with a huge showdown on Saturday against The Master's College in a contest which will determine third and fourth place in the conference. That match kicks-off at 4:30 p.m.
