SALT LAKE CITY --- After three frustrating losses to open the season, Biola took its frustration out on the University of Great Falls with an 8-0 victory in a non-conference match played at Westminster College in Utah on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles pick up their first victory over the season to improve to 1-3 while dropping the Argonauts to 0-3.

Biola scored its most goals in a match since a 9-1 win over Embry-Riddle University (Ariz.) during the 2004 season and is nearly half of the team's total from last season (17). The Eagles had scored just one goal in its first three matches of 2011.

Senior Brittany Barr scored two goals including the first of the match, coming just over four minutes into the contest. Barr received a pass from Morgan Gage and finished with ease near the goal mouth.

Biola then added three goals over a nine minute span to break the game wide open. Junior Ashleigh Cooley got in on the act in the 20th minute, scoring her second of the season by finishing a shot deflected by the keeper. 

In the 27th minute, Barr struck again with a tap in off a great cross by Stepanie Cubias. Sophomore Chrissy King then added another just two minutes later with a close finish to make it 4-0.

The Eagles did not let up in the second half, with sophomore Victoria Dalla Zanna scoring 15 minutes in. Cooley sent in a nice pass which found Dalla Zanna open 10 yards out and she finished quickly to make it 5-0.

Biola would score three more times in the final 15 minutes of the game. Junior Natalie Oliver scored her first goal of the season with a close finish off a pass from freshman Miranda Starbeck. Starbeck then scored her first collegiate goal six minutes later, kicking in a corner kick by junior Taylor Lundquist.

Lundquist then capped the scoring with a nifty goal in the 83rd minute, firing to the upper corner off a pass from freshman Stephanie Friehe.

Senior goalkeeper Erin Frushon had a relatively easy night, earning her first cleansheet by making one save and facing three shots.

Biola returns to Southern California for a road contest at cross-town foe Whittier College on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
