SALT LAKE CITY --- Westminster College's Margo Hickman scored just over six minutes into overtime as Biola suffered its second overtime loss of the season and third one-goal loss overall, falling 1-0 to the Griffins on Friday afternoon.
The Eagles drop to 0-3 on the season despite a solid battle against Westminster, which improves to 3-1-0 on the year.
Biola had the better of play through the opening 15 minutes of the contest, recording three shots and numerous corner kicks. However, the Eagles were not able to capitalize on those chances, though, and fought off a number of chances by the Griffins the rest of the half.
In the second, Westminster recorded three quick shots in an early barrage, but the Eagles turned the Griffins away each time.
Overtime proved to be all Westminster, as the Griffins had a shot early and found the back of the net on a breakaway goal by Hickman in the 97th minute.
Biola netminder Erin Frushon made eight saves and faced 15 shots but suffered the loss.
Jessica Austin recorded three of Biola's eight shots, putting two on frame.
The Eagles play one more match in Utah, taking on the University of Great Falls on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Biola returns home to play at Whittier College on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
