LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola University senior track and field star Natasha Miller has been made a third-team selection on the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Track and Field College Team as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America and announced on Thursday.

Miller, a senior from Abbotsford, B.C., recently wrapped up a stellar track and field career at Biola with her 11th and 12th individual NAIA title at the Outdoor Championships in June. Off the field she posted a 3.67 GPA while working towards a business degree at Biola University.

Miller will leave Biola as the most decorated athlete in school history. She has won 12 individual NAIA titles including successfully defending her outdoor heptathlon and high jump crowns at the NAIA Outdoor Championships in late May. Miller also earned All-American honors in both events and the 100m hurdles to make her a 23-time All-American.

Miller was named the 20011 NAIA Indoor Championship's Most Outstanding Performer and has been named the Most Valuable Performer at the last three Outdoor Championships and the Indoor meets in 2009 and 2010.

Miller becomes Biola's sixth Academic All-American and the third track and field athlete to earn the honor. She joins Scott Snyder and Christy Grimsie as the other two Biola track and field athletes, both of which earned the honor in 1990. She is also the second Biola athlete to land on an Academic All-American team this year, joining women's basketball player Jessilyn Conicelli.

To be eligible for the national team, a student athlete had to have been selected to its District's first team. Initial nomination criteria at the District level includes being a varsity starter or key reserve, maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, reaching sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by their sports information director.

The College Division is made up of schools from NCAA Division II, III, NAIA and junior colleges across the US and Canada. Miller was one of three NAIA athletes represented on the team. 

Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
