MARION, Ind. --- Senior Natasha Miller won her third-straight high jump title while fellow senior Kelsey Gasner took home sixth place in the 3000m steeplechase to highlight the final day of the 2011 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.

Miller's win was her 12th title and was the 23rd-time time she earned NAIA All-America honors. She cleared 1.80m (5 feet-10.75 inches) for her second invidual title of the 2011 season and her third-straight outdoor high jump title after two-straight indoor titles. It was the same height she cleared to win the last two outdoor titles.

Miller was named the meet's Most Valuable Performer as the highest-scoring competitor with 22 points scored. It is the third-straight year she has earned that honor after also earning it twice in the indoor championship.

Gasner also wrapped up her Biola career in impressive fashion with a sixth-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase. She crossed the finish line in 10:50.23 to net three points for the Eagles. 

The 13 points on the day gave Biola 26 total points as the Eagles had their best-ever finish at the championships, finishing in 11th place overall. They had one more point last year but finished tied for 12th.

On the men's side, the Biola marathoners headed out on the 26.2 mile marathon course and performed well. Senior Ryan Richert capped an amazing career with a 16th place finish, finishing in 2:35:44.70. Junior Brian Aukshunas also finished in the top 20, finishing 19th overall in 2:42:50.90.  

"This has been a great year for this program from cross country finishing second, the great showing at Indoors and now the best-ever finish at outdoors," said Head Coach Jonathan Zimmerman. "It has been an epic journey. It's extremely rewarding when the team comes together as a unit with common goals."
